Therapists Doing Good In The World
Therapy Charities by Jane Thurnell-ReadI am a great believer in doing good in the world. I want the world to be a better place because I have lived. One of the things I do, for example, is donate at least 12% of my income each month to various charities. I have now started to publicise some small therapy charities which are doing their bit to make a difference. Please email me if you want your therapy charity included. I give you this information in good faith, but it is up to you to make any appropriate checks before donating money, goods or time to these charities. REST UK:A small charity that gives on site chair massages to rescue workers Phoenix-Aid:This tiny charity is dedicated to bringing complementary therapies to the Bosnians traumatised by war and ethnic cleansing. They are also seeking to establish in Bosnia a properly accredited training institute where locals can be trained in therapeutic massage. Offers of money, equipment and self-funding volunteer therapists always needed. Read Linda Bentley's account of her trip to Bosnia for this charity in early 2007. Registered Charity Number: 1103938 Maun Homeopathy:This charity staffed by volunteers is dedicated to establishing a permanent homeopathic service for people living with HIV and AIDS and/or traumatised by rape in Maun, Botswana (southern Africa). Volunteer homeopaths from the UK go out there. Registered Charity Number: 1109958 |
