More On Salvestrols
More On Salvestrols by Jane Thurnell-ReadMy previous article on salvestrols and skin problems generated a lot of positive comments from practitioners about the success they were having with these products from Natures' Defence. Here's what Debby Moss told me:
Brain Schaefer, the Canadian distributor, told me this in an email
I'm taking Fruit Force capsules myself and have been using Salvestrol cream on a skin tag (now half the size and much paler after less than a month of using the cream), and a spider nevus on my left cheek that I've had as long as I can remember (definitely getting smaller and paler after two weeks of using the cream). As I'm sure you can imagine, I'm very excited about these products, which were developed by Natures Defence in the UK. This company was set up by Dr Gerry Potter of the Cancer Drug Discovery Group. Gerry's original research was following up on some work in 1995 and 1999 by other researchers which showed that tumour cells contained a particular enzyme (CYP1B1). This enzyme is found in a wide variety of tumours of different organs such as brain, breast, colon, lung, stomach, prostate, bladder and ovary, but the enzyme was not detected in the corresponding normal tissues. Gerry's research and that of other scientists was to find a way of using that enzyme in the cancerous cells to destroy the tumour. He was working on anti-cancer drugs when he realised that the same anti-cancer molecules should be present in fruit and vegetables in the diet, but often weren't because of modern agricultural methods (see my previous article for more on this). A supplement with a specific therapeutic dose was needed. This is where the Nature's Defence products come in. Salvestrols (from organic tangerine, strawberry and grape) enter the cells of the body. CYP1B1 works on the salvestrols to produce a toxic chemical that kills the cell. This enzyme is not produced in healthy cells, so the toxic chemical is not produced either. Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis tissues also produce the same enzyme, so it may be that salvestrols also have a role to play in these distressing and painful complaints. Someone also suggested to me that salvestrols might be beneficial for people with candidiasis, because of the anti-fungal nature of salvestrols. We don't have any evidence on this at the moment, but it could be worth a try if you have a client with intractable candida problems. Dogs also produce the CYP1B1 enzyme, so salvestrol therapy may be appropriate for them too. You can buy these products online from the manufacturer by clicking here. (Unfortunately because of UK legislation the web site is unable to say much about what the products are for!) You can also phone them (0116 260 2963 or if you're outside the UK +44 116 260 2963). If you live in North America, click here or phone 250 479-8646 for more information or to buy the products. In either case. iIf you want to obtain practitioner discounts, you will need to phone the companies. As I said in my previous article about these, I have no connection with the company, but I do feel it is really important that people should know about these amazing products. |
