How Does The Body Work?

Brain Maps And Anatomy And Physiology by Jane thurnell-Read

Thanks to Linda Ward for introducing me to this part of the BBC web site. There’s a lot of interesting and interactive information about how the body works. (The web site is aimed at everyone, so it may be far too simplistic for some of you knowledgeable souls, but I really enjoyed it.)

You can learn more about the brain, and how different parts of the brain relate to different emotions, or about the structure of the brain. Click here for this.

You can learn more about the muscles of the body. Click here for this.

You can play interactive games, identifying muscles, organs and bones and putting them in the right place in the body. Click here for this.

There is a lot more on this site including animations of the heart beating and peristalsis in the stomach. There are also several tests you can undertake.

It’s a fascinating part of the BBC web site – do have a look at it.
